Managed Home Screen’s Debug Menu
The new debug menu streamlined the experience for IT Admins to troubleshoot and submit bug reports. IT Admins can quickly gather information and communicate with Microsoft developers for Managed Home Screen support.
User Problem
The existing debug menu had several experience problems. To activate the debug menu, IT admins would have to tap the back button 10x. This was implemented to keep the menu hidden from first line workers. However, after gathering feedback from IT Admins, some preferred to facilitate easier access to this debug menu
Another friction point was that IT Admins had to activate the debug menu again if they wanted to select another debug option. We addressed this by implementing a clean navigation pattern similar to a settings menu. This helped IT admins get all the information they needed quickly and efficiently.
Flow
The menu was designed to be similar to that of normal Android settings - something linear and easy to move through the information.
